Temporal and spatial requirement of EMF1 EMF2 complex (see figure in home page) is implicated in repressing flowering homeotic genes during vegetative development. Recent data indicate that EMF1 is also involved in this function. Because emf1 mutants display severer phenotypes than emf2 mutants, EMF1 maybe involved in additional developmental processes. To investigate the time and place when EMF1 activity is required for Arabidopsis development, we generated and expressed constructs consisted of EMF1 sense or antisense cDNA under the control of stage- and tissue-specific promoters and study the impact of these constructs in rescuing or generating mutant phenotype, respectively. |
